The Heritage House was formerly the residence of Judge and Mrs R. A. Hefner.  When Judge Hefner was elected as a Justice of the State Supreme Court in 1926, the Hefners moved to Oklahoma City and purchased the masison.  The manison was built in 1917.  The Hefner family lived in it from 1927 to 1970.  Judge Hefner died in 1971 at 96.

After Judge Hefner retired from the Supreme Court in 1933, he was elected mayor of Oklahoma City in 1939.  During these 8 years as mayor, this beautiful mansion was the graceful setting of refined entertainment that graced the city.

The day I have always dreamed about is almost here . . .
. . . and the man I'll marry is the answer to all of my prayers.
